Good training needs good support. Fundraising helps us provide the people, equipment and opportunities that make vocational training possible.
Tools for Self Reliance relies on the generosity of our supporters to fund our work. We don’t receive government funding, so every donation, grant and fundraising effort helps keep our projects running.
Where does the money come from?

Your support in action
Fundraising isn’t just about raising money. It’s about making training possible.
Your support can help provide vocational training in areas such as tailoring, carpentry, mechanics and other practical trades. It can also help people develop the business skills they need to turn those skills into a livelihood.
Because training is at the heart of what we do, we’re interested in what happens after the training too. We want to see people putting their skills to work, earning an income and building something of their own.
That might mean starting a small tailoring business, finding work as a mechanic or taking the first steps towards running a business. The possibilities are different for everyone, but the starting point is often the same: a practical skill and the opportunity to use it.
Ways to support our work
You don’t have to run a marathon or bake 400 cakes to fundraise for Tools for Self Reliance. Although, if you fancy doing either, we won’t stop you.
